WHAT IS PRADAXA?

Pradaxa 110Mg Capsule is used to help prevent strokes, and to prevent the clotting of blood, especially if you suffer from fluctuations in blood pressure along with irregular heartbeat. It is known to effectively treat blood clot or deep vein thrombosis in the veins of your arms and legs. It can prevent the coagulation of blood in the lungs thereby controlling respiratory problems caused as a result.

MEDICINE USES:

It is also used to inhibit the hardening of arteries, and the lumping of blood especially after undergoing a heart valve replacement surgery, a knee replacement surgery or a hip replacement surgery. The drug blocks the actions of a coagulating protein called thrombin to main the smooth circulation of blood throughout the body. The medicine is in the form of a capsule which needs to be taken orally, with or without food as directed by the doctor. It is important to avoid antacids as they may interfere with the functions of the drug.

Pradaxa 110mg Capsule is used to prevent deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
It is also used to prevent blood clots in the veins after knee or hip replacement surgery. Additionally, it reduces the risk of stroke and blood clots in people who have abnormal heart beats.

PRADAXA COMMON SIDE EFFECTS:

Side effects of this drug may include the thinning of the blood making the patient prone to easy bleeding and bruising. Some reactions such as nose bleeding may occur. Excessive bleeding from cuts and wounds, or bleeding gums along with unusual pain and discomfort in the body may also happen which needs immediate medical attention.

In addition to its intended effect, Pradaxa 110Mg Capsule may cause some unwanted effects too. In such cases, you must seek medical attention immediately. This is not an exhaustive list of side effects. Please inform your doctor if you experience any adverse reaction to the medication.

Bleeding.

PRADAXA CAPSULES- DRUGS INTERACTIONS:

You should not take Pradaxa if you have an artificial heart valve, or if you have any active bleeding from a surgery, injury, or other cause.

Because Pradaxa keeps your blood from coagulating (clotting) to prevent unwanted blood clots, this medicine can also make it easier for you to bleed, even from a minor injury such as a fall or a bump on the head. Avoid activities that may increase your risk of bleeding or injury. Contact your doctor or seek emergency medical attention if you have bleeding that will not stop.

Pradaxa can cause a very serious blood clot around your spinal cord if you undergo a spinal tap or receive spinal anesthesia (epidural), especially if you have a genetic spinal defect, if you have a spinal catheter in place, if you have a history of spinal surgery or repeated spinal taps, or if you are also using other drugs that can affect blood clotting. This type of blood clot can lead to long-term or permanent paralysis.
